Art Camp 2012

25 10 2012

It’s yet another opportunity for Inspiration Centre to conduct her annual Art Camp. As Mathare residents and Kenyans at large, peace is very essential, especially during next year’s elections in Kenya. We have decided to have Peace (Shalom) as our theme for this year. We are planning to take 80 kids with 20 teachers to Mombasa’s Shimo la Tewa High School, eight hours away from Nairobi. Our team leaves on the 25th of November and returns on the 30th of November.

There are many reasons why you should support this cause:

The kids who will be going to this camp live in one of the poorest places on earth, with their parents earning around $1 per day. Most of them have never been outside the slum since they were born. It’s an opportunity for them to be exposed to the outside world. In this year’s camp, Inspiration Centre will be working in conjunction with Bear Valley Church from Denver. The Denver team has contributed transportation costs and we are still looking for other supporters, like you, to help raise money for accommodation, food and  art supplies.  For each child we need only $50 for the entire trip. They will have the chance to visit the beach, see animals at Haller Park, and learn vital peacemaking skills through drama, dance, photography, collage making and sculpture. Will you be a part of this cause?

If so, you can send your tax deductible gift to Center for Transforming Mission (http://ctmnet.org/contact-donate.ctm). CTM is an organization in the United States that partners with Inspiration Centre.

Or if you are in Kenya, you can send your contribution to our account:
