Irene’s Graduation

24 05 2013

When I met Irene more than four years ago, I wasn’t sure how to help her finish college. Coming from a family of five siblings and two unemployed parents was a good reason for her to drop out of high school. Fortunately, that was never the case. Irene was able to finish high school and even went ahead to join Pumwani School of Midwifery.

What I came to understand later is that this young lady was determined to finish this course even though she had no idea where the money would come from. I guess it’s true that where there is a will, there is always a way. During hard times in Irene’s education  and life, she was out of school and had no idea what to do. Fortunately, Inspiration Centre was hosting missionaries from Bear Valley Church who were led by Pastor Howard. Among this team was a couple; Randy and Sharon who felt Irene’s need and offered to pay all her college fees and expenses.

It’s almost four years later and we can’t express all  of our gratitude to Randy and Sharon for their support. 17th of May, 2013 was the climax of all this when Jaime and I witnessed Irene graduate with a diploma in nursing. We wish her all the best as she enters into another chapter of serving and caring for mothers-to-be.
